Storage Precautions for Transparent Film Three-dimensional Packaging Machine Packaging Film

Storage precautions for Transparent film three-dimensional packaging machine packaging film

Environmental temperature and humidity control

Temperature range: It is recommended to store at a temperature of 15℃ to 25℃. Excessively high temperatures can easily cause the packaging film to soften, stick together or deform, while excessively low temperatures may make it brittle, affecting its stretchability and flexibility. For instance, in summer when the temperature is high, if the storage environment does not cool down, the packaging film may expand due to heat and stick together into lumps. In winter when the temperature is low, it may break during use due to increased brittleness.

Humidity control: The relative humidity should be maintained at 40% to 60%. Excessive humidity can cause the packaging film to absorb moisture and become damp, resulting in problems such as a sticky surface and blurred printed patterns. If the humidity is too low, it may cause static electricity, leading to the packaging film adhering to dust or lagging during operation. For instance, during the rainy season in the south, special attention should be paid to moisture-proofing, while in the dry northern regions, the air humidity needs to be increased.

2. Light and ultraviolet protection

Light-proof storage: The packaging film should be stored in a cool place away from direct sunlight to avoid prolonged exposure to ultraviolet rays. Ultraviolet rays can accelerate the aging of packaging films, causing them to discolor, become brittle or experience a decline in performance. For instance, if transparent packaging film is exposed to sunlight for a long time, it may gradually turn yellow, affecting the aesthetic appeal of the packaging.

Light-blocking measures: If the storage environment cannot be completely protected from light, light-blocking cloth or dark curtains can be used to cover the Windows, or non-transparent packaging materials can be used to provide secondary protection for the packaging film.

3. Storage posture and support

Horizontal placement: The packaging film should be placed horizontally on a flat shelf or pallet to avoid deformation caused by tilting or stacking too high. For instance, if the packaging film is stored vertically by hanging, the film roll may deform due to the effect of gravity, affecting the flatness when in use.

Support and fixation: For heavier membrane rolls, special brackets or wooden blocks should be used for support to prevent the rolls from rolling or collapsing. Meanwhile, a certain distance should be maintained between the membrane rolls to avoid mutual squeezing.

4. Dust-proof and pollution-proof

Sealed storage: Unused packaging films should be kept in their original packaging or sealed with dust-proof bags to prevent dust and foreign objects from adhering. For instance, if the surface of the packaging film is contaminated with dust, it may cause the film to get stuck or the packaging effect to be poor during the operation of the packaging machine.

Clean environment: The storage area should be kept clean. The floor and shelves should be regularly swept to prevent dust accumulation. At the same time, operations such as grinding and cutting that are prone to generating dust are prohibited in the storage area.

5. Anti-static measures

Static electricity elimination: In a dry environment, packaging films are prone to generating static electricity, which can lead to dust adhesion or lag during operation. Static electricity can be eliminated in the following ways:

Use a humidifier to increase the humidity of the air.

Lay anti-static floors or carpets in the storage area.

Operators should wear anti-static wristbands.

Avoid friction: When handling packaging film, handle it gently to prevent static electricity generated by friction with rough surfaces.

6. Regular inspection and maintenance

Visual inspection: Regularly check the appearance of the packaging film to see if there is any damage, deformation, discoloration or moisture. If any problems are found, they should be isolated and dealt with in time to avoid affecting normal use.

Performance testing: For packaging films that have been stored for a long time, a small batch test can be conducted before use to check whether their tensile strength, heat sealability and other properties meet the requirements. For instance, if it is found that the stretsibility of the packaging film has significantly decreased, it may be necessary to adjust the parameters of the packaging machine or replace the packaging film.

7. Storage period and first-in, first-out principle

Storage period: The storage period of packaging film is generally 6 to 12 months, depending on the material and storage conditions. Packaging films that have exceeded their storage period should undergo performance tests. They can only be used after being confirmed as qualified.

First in, First Out: Follow the "First in, first out" principle, and give priority to using packaging films that were stored earlier to avoid long-term accumulation leading to expiration or performance decline.

8. Fire Prevention and Safety

Keep away from fire sources: Packaging films are mostly flammable materials. The storage area should be kept away from open flames, heat sources and flammable items, and be equipped with fire extinguishers and other fire-fighting equipment.

No Smoking: Smoking or open flame operations are strictly prohibited in the storage area to prevent fires.

9. Handling and stacking norms

Handle with care: When moving packaging film, use a forklift or manual handling vehicle. Avoid direct dragging or throwing to prevent damage to the packaging film.

Stacking height: The stacking height of packaging film should not exceed the prescribed limit (generally no more than 2 meters) to prevent toppling or damaging the lower film rolls.

10. Recording and Tracing

Storage records: Establish storage records for packaging films, including information such as the time of entry into the warehouse, batch number, and storage location, to facilitate traceability and management.

Abnormal handling: If any abnormality is found during the storage of the packaging film, it should be recorded in a timely manner, the cause analyzed, and improvement measures taken to prevent similar problems from happening again.

Through the above measures, the storage quality of the packaging film of the transparent film three-dimensional packaging machine can be effectively guaranteed, its service life can be prolonged, and the smooth progress of the packaging process can be ensured.
